"The Community Farmers Market in Eagle Landing is off to a slow start," says the Clay Sun, a suburban Jacksonville newspaper. The paper's Web site carries three photos from the "farmers market" that may offer a pretty good explanation for why it's a flop. There's hardly a fruit or vegetable in sight. The three forlorn vendors in the market are mostly hawking flea market-type stuff.
Potential customers who happen upon this market are probably going to be too caught up in wondering 'why the heck are they calling this a farmers market' than in looking for something to buy.
